Recently I just had an experience with a telephone scam. A Jamaican man called up and informed us that we had entered a contest a year ago and won 575,000$. All I had to do was go to my local WalMart an purchase a prepaid green dot VISA card ( he referred to it as a VISA green money pack) for 375$. This was to pay the delivery fee for the 575,000$ check being delivered by an armored truck company. After stringing the guy along and having him call us back a few dozen times, I noticed that every time he called he called it was from a different phone number and they were all over the country. After the whole event blew over I started looking for how he was changing his caller id information. It turns out that this is a service you can purchase and use through your computer and phone.
